Dogs of Lake Mac – The Healing Edition is a deeply personal coffee table book celebrating the quiet, powerful ways dogs and their humans heal one another.
This edition is not about perfect portraits or polished moments.
It’s about presence.
Connection.
And the stories that changed everything.
The Healing Edition brings together dogs and their humans whose lives have been shaped, softened, or steadied by one another.
Some stories speak of loss.
Some of resilience.
Some of mental health, illness, recovery, or simply the quiet comfort of being understood without words.
Every story is shared gently, respectfully, and with intention.
Participation Fee: $295
Your participation includes a complete photographic experience — thoughtfully designed, calm, and pressure-free.
Included in your experience:
A personal pre-session consultation
We begin with a conversation.
You’ll share your story, your dog’s role in it, and how you’d like that connection to be expressed.
A guided studio portrait session
Created calmly and unhurriedly, with you and your dog together.
Flexible, gentle portrait design
You do not need to be fully visible in your image unless you wish to be.
Some participants choose to be fully present.
Others prefer a quieter connection — a hand resting on a paw, bare feet beside their dog, or a subtle suggestion of presence.
There is no right or wrong way.
Your portrait is designed around what feels right for you.
A double-page spread in Dogs of Lake Mac – The Healing Edition
Featuring your shared portrait and written healing story.
One collector’s copy of the book
Valued at $150 and included exclusively for participants.
A $50 donation
Made in your name to a rescue or mental health charity of your choice.
Each Heart Dogs portrait is individually hand-edited in my signature painterly fine-art style before you view any images.
Because of this, every Healing Edition session is prepared with intention.
Your chosen experience path helps guide how your session is photographed and how many images are fully hand-edited and presented — ensuring each story receives the care it deserves, without over- or under-preparing.
There is no pressure to choose more than feels right.
This simply allows your artwork to be created with clarity and respect for the process.
Once your Healing Edition portrait has been carefully prepared, some participants choose to allow the story to live beyond the page.
For others, it becomes something they wish to live with every day.
Participants may choose to turn the portrait featured in the book into a finished piece of fine-art artwork for their home — the same image, thoughtfully crafted to live beyond the page.
There is no obligation.
Only an invitation.
Fine Art Experience Upgrade (Optional)
For those who feel their Healing Edition portrait is just the beginning, there is the opportunity to continue into a full Heart Dogs Fine Art Experience.
This optional continuation involves an additional investment of $500 and includes:
An extension of your session to create a broader body of work
Additional fully hand-edited, painterly portraits
A private design and reveal appointment
A $550 Fine Art Collection Credit to use toward artwork
Your Healing Edition portrait remains part of the book regardless.
This continuation simply allows the story to unfold further.
Some stories are told in a single image.
Others need more space.
Whether your portrait lives only within the pages of The Healing Edition or becomes part of your home, your story is honoured with care, respect, and heart.
Participation in Dogs of Lake Mac – The Healing Edition is limited to ensure every story is treated with the time and attention it deserves.
If this project speaks to you, you’re warmly invited to apply.

As two rescues, we were so paw-leased that Kelly was so patient and kind. Her passion for us doggos really shows in her photography. Mum really loves our beautiful paw-traits and we're pretty chuffed to be up on the walls at home.
"We'll treasure them forever."

Our Mum, Pippa, took us to have our paw-trait taken along with our two small humans. Kelly was patient with our two very different personalities, AND a grumpy toddler. She has captured the most beautiful photos. 10/10 recommend!
"Nothing short of a miracle worker!"
